Job Description

SNV is now looking to hire an experienced Global Head Human Resources who spearheads SNV’s people and talent operations and strategy. A strategic, empathetic leader that will lead the HR department, the Global Head Human Resources ensures SNV is composed of motivated, high calibre, high performing team members at all levels. They support and advise global teams as well as country teams on Human Resources related issues. Reporting to the CEO, the Global Head Human Resources acts as a partner to the Managing Board and other relevant senior management on HR related topics and by initiating improvements and changes in HR practices. The Global Head Human Resources is part of SNV’s Extended Management Team and is based in The Hague.

Key Responsibilities

• HR Strategy and Policy development, lead the development, planning, implementation, review and execution of global HR strategy, policies and procedures, in line with the SNV strategy, taking into account external developments and best practices. • Outline global HR goals on a yearly basis and execute annual HR plans within the given financial budget and human resources. • Provide overall leadership of HR operations and ensure outstanding service levels of the global HR team and compliance with internal controls, in line with policies and procedures, and aligned to requirements of the organisation and legal frameworks of countries we operate in. • Oversee high quality monitoring and reporting, ensuring effective gathering and reporting of management information on status of employee composition, HR objectives, analysis of metrics to identify opportunities and advice, and timely reporting to the Managing Board on risks and opportunities of strategic choices. Responsible for the annual HR Analytics Report. • Support to Managing Board and Councils, acts as a strategic counsel and guide to the Managing Board on talent acquisition, management and development, including organisational development and legal cases. Serve as HR Representative to the Global Council and Netherlands Council.


Qualifications

• Master’s degree in relevant field with a proven track record in international HR management; • Extensive years of experience, including several in an HR leadership position in an international setting; • Thorough understanding of the not-for-profit and/or commercial consultancy sector; • Able to translate strategic direction into effective operational plans; • Interpersonal effectiveness and integrity; • Pragmatic and structured, clear in communication; • Affinity with HR analytics; • Strong in (intercultural) stakeholder management; • Excellent English communication skills, with French an additional asset.
