- United States of America
The Center for Sustainable Development has been providing training for developing climate action plans for communities for over a dozen years.
We have recently adopted a new version of our program to be specialized specifically for small, rural towns in North America: the United States (including Alaska and Hawaii), and all of Canada.
Course Goal:
Our goal is to help small, rural North American communities move forward with impact-oriented climate projects. Projects will be developed using community-based needs assessments to identify climate challenges and their underlying causes.
Project activities will be investigated and developed using scientific research of similar projects that show evidence of having worked. Preliminary project documentation will be prepared for an initial donor meeting.
Scholarships:
We are providing 10 full scholarships as part of launching this new version that begins March 1 for members of rural communities in North America.
The scholarship is meant to be open to a broad range of community members.
