L’Agence Française de Développement (AFD) a lancé en 2022 une cartographie des communs numériques en Afrique subsaharienne. Nous souhaitons remercier l’ensemble des personnes ayant contribué à cet exercice, qui a permis d’identifier une grande diversité de communautés et de mieux comprendre leur fonctionnement.
Le rapport transmis à l’AFD peut-être trouvé en pièce jointe de ce courriel. L’ensemble des données collectées peut être visualisé et téléchargé en ligne en français et en anglais. A travers un formulaire, vous pouvez continuer à soumettre des exemples de communs numériques qui seront ajoutés à la cartographie.
L’AFD a souhaité mettre en débat les hypothèses de travail formulées à la suite de cette étude avec des praticiens et des experts au cours de deux webinaires de restitution. Vous pouvez également revoir ces webinaires en français et en anglais.
Grâce aux connaissances ainsi développées et en s’appuyant sur la liste des exemples identifiés dans le cadre de ce travail, l’AFD continuera ses actions pour soutenir la participation des citoyens et de communautés dans la gestion des ressources numériques.

The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) has launched in 2022 a mapping of digital commons in Sub-Saharan Africa. We would like to thank all the people who contributed to this exercise, which allowed us to identify a great diversity of communities and to better understand their functioning.
The report submitted to AFD can be found here. All the data collected can be visualized and downloaded online in English and in French. Through a form, you can continue to submit examples of digital commons that will be added to the mapping.
AFD has decided to launch a conversation on the working assumptions formulated following this study during two restitution webinars with practitioners and experts. You can watch these webinars again in English and in French.
Based on the list of examples and the knowledge developed through this study, AFD will keep supporting citizen and community participation in the management of digital resources.
